About Us

The North Carolina Arabian Horse Association was formed in 1969 to unite North Carolinians interested in Arabian horses and that wanted to promote Arabians and Part-Arabians through breeding and showing. The first meeting of the association and its founding members was held June 8, 1969 in Asheville, North Carolina. Since that time, the association has continued to grow. The NCAHA continues to promote Arabian horses through shows, awards programs and challenge series for its members and its goals have remained the same since its creation:

        - To serve and promote the best interests of Arabian horses in North Carolina;

        - To promote interest in Arabian horse breeding;

        - To promote interest in Arabian horse showing;

        - To sponsor horse shows, various Arabian horse projects and other programs;

        - To improve the quality of Arabian horses;

        - Otherwise to assist in connection with the promotion of Arabian horses in North Carolina.

Other benefits of membership

NCAHA sponsors a number of events (youth and adult) during the show season. Typically three shows a year are sponsored and organized by the club:

• Our two day Summer Extravaganza show held at the Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh

• Our Sport Horse and  Dressage show that runs concurrently with the Summer Extravaganza Show

• Our All Arabian "A" show held in the spring. A region 12 qualifying show.

• Clinics and trial rides organized by the club

An end of the year banquet is held, typically in January.  Reserve and champion high point awards are made in a number of divisions for purebred as well as half-Arabians. Club Affiliations

The NCAHA is very proud of it's involvement with the Triangle Wide Horseman's Association, Heritage Arabian Horse Association (HAHA) and the United Horsemen of the Carolinas. The TWHA and UHC are open breed Associations which give our members, and their Arabians the opportunity to show and interact with owners and horses of diverse breeds.

NCAHA sponsors two awards in both the TWHA and the UHC awards program. The High Point Arabian Horse and High Point Arabian Rider.
